Bloom ~ Garage Magazine

This was another shoot I assisted with the lovely Francesca Burns for the debut issue of Garage Magazine, It was a really great shoot to work on, especially as Dominic Jones was creating one of jewellery pieces from fresh flowers and matte pastel spray paint, it was so interesting to see how he works and his signature style really shone through.
The models were so lovely and the whole team were a pleasure to work with, including all the nice people at sunbeam studios.

Agathe & Seraphine's Doll House

This was a shoot I assisted on with Francesca Burns for Dasha Zukova's new art meets fashion Magazine Garage, with SHOWstudio.

Shot by Nick Knight, art direction and concept art by Dinos Chapman, Set Design by Gary Card and Styling by Francesca Burns.

The Agathe and Seraphine’s House shoot was inspired by Dinos’ daughter’s dollhouses and the 1982 art house porn flick ‘Cafe Flesh'

It was probably the biggest and hardest shoot I have done, we had rails and rails of clothes and everything was the best from every designer, we did the returns after the two day shoot from this studio and didn't leave until 5am!

With such a huge team of people it was amazing to see the grand scale of things that go into a shoot like this. Lily Donaldson, who was an absolute pleasure to work with, was dressed in each of these outfits with a hair and make up change for each was placed into a part of the full size built doll house set and posed doll like while Nick worked his photographic magic and  post editing started straight away, they were stretching Lily's face out and rounding it to get the final 'bobble head' look that you see in the final images.

Also in the last image where Lily is in the beautiful blue Rodarte dress, the mouse that you see in 3 places is actually a glamour model wearing What Katie Did customised high wait knickers with a tail!

Top Five East London Coffee Hangouts ~ #3 "The Creative" St Ali

MY GOD the coffee in here is good. well, they do have the advantage of roasting and grinding their coffee beans in house with a big fancy monster machine! This is the smoothest coffee ever and still a strong distinct taste, I opted for the cappuccino and Charlie the classic latte, which was the creamiest and smoothest I think I have ever tried, my cappu was perfect though a soft balance of strong coffee with the perfect amount of dense froth

The food in here looks delish too, not just the yummy food on show but a delightful menu that has me coming back for more (the breakfasts look pretty wowzer!) someone next to us on the sharing table ordered scrambled eggs and it looked like heaven.

ST. ALi has a wonderful atmosphere, with a big square central coffee bar for the master barristas to work their magic in a cup, and for the customers to sit where they please, a long sharing table, (which we chose)-a big rustic wooden beauty, a few little tables for two and the upstairs is set up more for people wanting to eat, but just as lovely.

An interesting feature was the greenery wall, with the huge coffee monster situated at the back of the cafe, the two walls either side of it had one giant painting, with a face watching over it and a big red F.U(you see what I mean by the picture) and opposite, a wall full of plants, very interesting and creative.

It was also really interesting to see the coffee beans in the bucket in their raw state, it had never occurred to me that it's the roasting of them that turns them that lovely dark brown colour.

The staff were super friendly and were very attentive, this was a great place to just enjoy coffee, do a bit of work, have a chill and a chat. Will definitely be going back for more very soon.

Thanks Charlie for accompanying me and taking my pic :)
