Film stills by Wing Shya

Some beautiful images from a short film by Wing Shya for a special collaboration between Rodarte and Maggie Cheung to rais money for Unicef.
Kate and Laura Mulleavy designed and handmade four unique dresses featuring Swarovski crystals, drawing their inspiration from four Maggie Cheung movies: In the Mood For Love, Hero, Clean and Heroic Trio.

Tim Walker

Tim Walkers fantasy fashon world has always had me captivated, his stunning photography is a fairy tale reality that you long to be apart of.
His soft tones and whimsical settings along with his inspiration from darker elements creates the most fascinating and dream like images.
He has collaborated with stylists Jacob K and Kate Phelan for most of his shoots and of course the magnificent Tim Burton for the Harpars Bazaar shoot.
Countless editorias for high profile fashion magazines makes it hard to pick pictures but I have posted some of my favourites even though I love them all!

Floria Sigismondi

Floria Sigismondi is a creative photographer and dirctor, she has directed music videos for many artists and always holds a strong eerie but fashion aesthetic presence.
The pictures include stills from Christina Aguilera's 'Fighter', The White Stripes 'Blue Orchid' and other photography.
A firm photographic style that translates to media wonderfully, I hope to emulate some of this style within my own work.

Chanel Particulière -Short Film by Quentin Jones

Found this adorable little stop motion film by the Central St. Martins MA graduate Quentin Jones.
The colour is perfect; somewhere between grey and brown and I must have it!

Jean Charles De Castelbajac Autumn/Winter 2010

What I like about Jean Charles De Castelbajac is that his collections are always so playful.
I like that he mixes things up, he is not afraid to use colour and some pieces in this collection are really nice, also my secret love of Disney helps alot and I have fallen in love with these adorable bambi pumps!
The black, red and neutral forest colours work well together and other intersting parts of his collection include stained glass inspired pieces, grey stone wall printed garments and inflatable looking jackets.

Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2010

From the late Mr Lee Alexander McQueen, his last collection presented.
The pieces that are there are stunning as usual but with a ghostly air, the dresses in white are beautiful; the shapes and the hints of grey and silver is simply gorgeous, the shapes of the red and black pieces to begin with are unmistakably McQueen and the boots with crystals on the bottom are absolutley amazing.
The colours of the collection are a lovely mix and the strong use of gold makes it feel very royal.
A great innovative British designer who will be greatly missed, RIP McQueen.

Givenchy Autumn/Winter 2010

Givenchy always pulls off that sleek Autumn look with a few details to make your mouth water.
High necks, crystalized gloves, gorgeous boots, lovely fabrics and hints of reds and olive greens amongst the black and nude.
Interesting shapes for the men; particularly the leather jacket and skirt combo,
and the mixture of sheer and heavy fabrics is stunning.

Ann Demeulemeester Autumn/Winter 2010

After receiving my first Demeulemeester piece in the post yesterday morning and finally seeing my most anticipated collection of the season, it did not fail to amaze.
Gorgeous feather and braided leather rope accessories, leather and fabrics draped like only Ann knows how, slick hair and make up, and hints of red, and gloves and boots finishing the completed look.

Super excited about going back to Antwerp for the second time this Easter to check out the stock sales!

Haider Ackermann Autumn/Winter 2010

Absolutely stunning collection by Haider Ackermann this Autumn/Winter.
A firm favourite of mine for this season; beautiful shapes skimming the body, muted colours of browns, greys and blacks that make you melt, leather and heavy wool fabrics moulded into glorious shapes, intriguing laser cutting, chic simplistic styling with divide boots and belts.
All in all there is nothing to dislike whatsoever!
Would love to know what music he had for the show..?

A F Vandevorst

Antwerp designers are fast becoming my most anticipated shows of the year and with Dries and now A F both ticking the boxes for me, I cant wait to see the others...

As for this collection, my favourite nude and black colour combo comes out in force, and a hint of a sumptuous wine red at the end is divine!

All of the shapes are stunning and so easy to wear, and the styling on the whole is really interesting; cardboard type cutout pieces at the beginning, what looks like latex gloves or painted arms (not sure but looks great) and dusted chalk and writing on a few pieces.

Also the draped leather, chunky knit, trio belts and boots work really well for this great textured collection, and to complete- the hair and make up is perfectly simple and chic, rounding up as a definite favourite for me in Paris.
